Meet the Founder

Hi! My name is Saquoia, However I also go by Sa'mi (suh-my). I created this brand for individuals just like me and you! A multifaceted individual: Confident and intelligent, with a natural talent and a drive to succeed. Yet, understand the importance of staying humble and grounded. We're all lifelong learners, ready to grow and expand our potential.

My fascination with beauty started early. I remember sneaking my mom's makeup in elementary school, using it to express myself creatively. From a young age, I embraced what made me unique – both in how I looked and how I thought. I wasn't afraid to be different. Curiosity has always been a driving force for me. I loved learning and exploring new ideas, even if it meant standing out from the crowd. Makeup and fashion became my tools for creative expression, especially in environments where I felt like I couldn't really be myself.

At first I felt like there was no one or nothing to truly relate to, until one day I decided to take a leap of faith in providing makeup services at my dining room table in high-school during homecoming season (10th grade). This decision was actually spiritually led because I've always been a big dreamer, yet being able to create a safe space and connecting with others that appreciated my gift gave me the push I needed to take my passion seriously and make it into a full time career.

Even though I had skills in different areas pertaining to beauty , I made the decision to go to Cosmetology school to be around other creative individuals, gain more insight on being in the beauty industry and receive my cosmetology license. However, a little time before making that decision I became physically ill from the choices in food I was making that led me to become plant-based.

Transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle has truly been transformative for me, not just personally, but also professionally within the beauty industry. Embracing plant-based practices has allowed me to explore innovative, cruelty-free approaches to skincare and cosmetics. It's not only aligned with my lifestyle but has also expanded my creativity and offerings, opening doors to new perspectives and opportunities within the industry.

Since incorporating more plant-based products and services into my offerings within the beauty industry, the results have been truly remarkable. Not only have I witnessed a noticeable improvement in the overall health and radiance of my clients' skin and hair, but their comfort of knowing they can trust what I use and recommend will aid in the goals they will achieve.

Overall, I've learned that the simplest changes plus aligning with nature, aid in the most valuable results and that chemicals or unnatural products can actually cause more harm than good. This shift has not only nurtured stronger client relationships but has also positioned me as a leader in the industry, driving positive change towards a more healthier, sustainable future in beauty.
